William Herman "Bill" Seither, Jr.

William Herman “Bill” Seither, Jr. passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013. Native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Old Metairie and River Ridge, age 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Olga “Stokes” Martinez Seither and the late Ruth Conzonere Seither. Loving father of William “Billy” H. Seither III(Dawn), Marty H. Seither(Judy), June Seither Plauche(Ronnie), Richard C. Seither(the late Denise Seither), Elizabeth Anne Seither(George), Deborah B. Vicknair(Donnie), Edward “Rusty” Bertucci(Chris), Terry M. Bertucci(Debbie), Bruce Bertucci, Gloria “Sue” B. Elfer(Herman), Michael J. Bertucci(April) and the late Brenda Junda Olivo(Buddy). Devoted grandfather of 34, great grandfather of 53 and great great grandfather of 3. Loving brother of Lloyd William Seither(Helen). Bill is predeceased by his parents, William H. and Elizabeth “Bessie” Mills Seither and his sister, Audrey Seither Vogt(John). He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was stationed in CA and served as President of the D. A. V. for several years. Proprietor of American Lamp Co., having founded it in Jefferson in 1966. As a participant in the Senior Olympics, Bill won several national and state medals every 2 years in the Horseshoes and Bowling events. A member of Harahan Christian Church, he volunteered on several truck missions after Katrina. President of Redemptorist Dads Club and organizer of their school fairs for 10 years. Proud Pe Paw of Seithers Seafood on Hickory Ave. in Harahan. He bowled in three leagues at Colonial Bowling Lanes; the Monday A.M., the Tuesday P.M. and the Thursday P.M. leagues. Bill’s hobbies were Off Track Betting, fishing, following LSU and the Saints and just living life. He was a very loving and giving man who will be missed by his bowling friends, church friends and family. Pe Paw’s last words were “Love everyone and that love will be returned to you.” Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bill’s life to be held at the Kenner Funeral Home of L. A. Muhleisen and Son, 2607 Williams Blvd. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M. Evening Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment following service on Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery.
