Rosa Aracely Barquero

Rosa Aracely Barquero passed away peacefully on the15th of March 2023 at the age of 74. She was surrounded by her children and siblings when she surrendered her soul to our eternal lord. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Andrey Rene Barquero. Rosa Aracely Barquero Lobo was born on July 10th,1948 in Tela, Honduras. She is the daughter of the late Rosaura Mejia Lobo and Porfirio Mejia. She received her Bachelor of Education from Triunfo de la Cruz and went on to teach first grade for 10 years at Escuela Lempira, Honduras. She was passionate about teaching underprivileged children and took great pride in their academic accomplishments. Aracely was an exemplary mother of four who cared for her children and grandchildren despite battling four types of cancer throughout her lifetime. She had a vast capability for learning several skill sets in her lifetime, she studied horticulture, she became a licensed cosmetology educator, she also went to art school, creativity and education were her passions. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at her church for over 20 years. She will be remembered as our matriarch who instilled love of God and core values to her entire family with unflattering faith. She is survived by her children. Mother of José René Barquero, and mother in-law of Sara Posadas Barquero. Mother of Andre A. Barquero, and mother-in-law of Flavia Mujica Barquero. Mother of Nerissa Aracely Barquero Ledet, and mother-in-law of Aaron Augustine Ledet. Mother of Ivana Barquero Oliva, and mother-in-law of Rodolfo Enrique Oliva Jr. Sister of Enrique Escalante, and sister-in-law of Barbara Escalante, Maria Posadas and sister-in-law of Armando Posadas, Oneida Flores, and sister-in-law of Marcia Flores. Sunilda Mejia, Rosaura Cáceres. Sister-in-law of Elva Welker, Jose Rigoberto Barquero, and sister-in-law of Carmen Barquero, Rina Mejia, and sister-in-law of Arturo Mejia, Belinda Barquero, Javier Barquero. Grandmother of Andrea Barquero, Aaron Barquero, Andrey Barquero, Gabriella Barquero, Giovanna Oliva and Audrey Ledet D’Amico. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062.
