Miguel Ángel Ramos Lebrón

Miguel Ángel Ramos Lebrón, age 33, passed away of cancer at his home in Kenner, LA, on Tuesday, November 20th 2018. He departed peacefully in the Christian faith, surrounded by the love of family. Miguel was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico on January 11th, 1985, to Ana Miriam Lebrón Ortiz and Miguel Ángel Ramos Rivera. He was raised by his mother in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico along with his sister, Mairim Gisel Ramos Lebrón. Early on, he was part of school music programs, marching bands, church worship groups, and even a Christian ska band, playing the trombone. He excelled in his studies and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (aka “Colegio”). His musical talents and physical stature would earn him a spot in the “Colegio” marching band, where he played the tuba. It was also during his studies at “Colegio”, that he met the love of his life, Abigail Rivera Morales. Their love would culminate in marriage and two beautiful children, Rebecka and Pablo Miguel Ramos Rivera, ages 10 and 8. Life would bring Miguel to Louisiana shortly after hurricane Katrina when he took a job with the US Army Corps of Engineers in the New Orleans District. An early riser, he would always make the first pot of coffee in the office (and everyone loved it!) His professionalism made him a sought-after cost engineer. He worked primarily on dredging projects and holds one of the best track records in developing Independent Government Estimates (IGE) that were on point with the winning bid. He loved his job, as well as the people around him. They were not just co-workers to him, but friends and family. He also developed meaningful relationships as part of the congregation of Iglesia Bautista El Camino. Miguel always enjoyed playing video games, especially the roleplaying kind. During his childhood he enjoyed Anime and even wrote his own Anime comic book. Throughout his life, he developed many “gaming” friendships, near and far. Most recently, he was an active participant in a weekly Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game group. His clever imagination and witty sense of humor always kept games fun and interesting. Miguel touched numerous lives with his beautiful smile, talent, and famous bear hugs. He will forever be loved and missed. A visitation will take place on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home in Kenner, LA. In lieu of flower arrangements, the family requests live plants. Él departió con paz en la fe cristiana, rodeado por el amor de su familia. Miguel nació en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico el 11 de enero de 1985, hijo de Ana Miriam Lebrón Ortiz y Miguel Ángel Ramos Rivera. Fue criado por su madre en Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico con su hermana, Mairim Gisel Ramos Lebrón. Durante su niñez y juventud participó en programas musicales escolares, bandas de marcha, ministerios de adoración en iglesias, y hasta un grupo de ska cristiano. Tuvo éxito en sus estudios, obteniendo un bachillerato en Ingeniería Civil de la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Mayagüez (también conocido como Colegio). Sus talentos musicales y estatura física lo llevarían a participar de la banda de marcha del Colegio. Fue también durante sus estudios en el Colegio que conoció al amor de su vida, Abigail Rivera Morales. Su amor culminaría en matrimonio y dos hermosos hijos, Rebecka y Pablo Miguel Ramos Rivera, de edades 10 y 8. La vida traería a Miguel a Louisiana poco después del huracán Katrina cuando tomó una posición con el Cuerpo de Ingenieros de la Armada de Estados Unidos en el Distrito de New Orleans. Ya que le gustaba llegar temprano al trabajo, hacía la primera ronda de café en la mañana (y a todos le encantaba como lo hacía!) Su profesionalismo lo llevo a ser un ingeniero de costo de alta demanda. Su trabajo era principalmente en dragados y tiene uno de los mejores récords en producir Estimados Independientes del Gobierno (IGE, por sus siglas en inglés) que resultaban a la par con la oferta ganadora. Él amaba su trabajo y a sus compañeros. Ellos se convirtieron en amigos y familia. También formó hermosas relaciones como parte de la congregación de la Iglesia Bautista El Camino. Miguel siempre disfrutó de videojuegos, especialmente aquellos de la variedad “roleplaying”. Durante su niñez le gustaba el Anime y hasta escribió su propio comic de Anime. A través de su vida, desarrolló muchas amistades de “gaming”, cercanas y lejanas. Recientemente participaba en un grupo semanal de juegos “Dungeons and Dragons”. Su ingeniosa imaginación y sentido de humor mantenían los juegos divertidos e interesantes. Miguel tocó numerosas vidas con su hermosa sonrisa, talento y sus famosos abrazos de oso. Siempre será amado y extrañado. Un periodo de visitación tomará lugar el domingo, 25 de noviembre de 2018 de 1 a 3 de la tarde en la funeraria L.A. Muhleisen & Son en Kenner, LA. En vez de arreglos florales, la familia prefiere plantas.
