Mary Rita Pizzolato

Mary Rita Pizzolato passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the age of 73, after a 14 year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family until she left her earthly body to be with the Lord. She was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Kenner, LA. She spent the last few years of her life living with her brother Joe and his wife Linda who selflessly and lovingly cared for her. Daughter of the late Carlo Raymond Pizzolato and Sadie Maria Mistretta Pizzolato. She was preceded in death by her Uncle Anthony “Butts” Mistretta who after her parents’ death became like a father and mother to her. He described her as “good as gold”. Sister of Lena Ann Pizzolato Ramil, Joseph “Joe” Pizzolato (Linda) and Victor C. Pizzolato (Neringa). Aunt of Manuel Ramil Jr., Misty Ramil, Nino Pizzolato, April P. Levy (Stephen), Marisha Pizzolato and Tulasi Pizzolato. Great aunt of Jade, Sadie, Brittney, Carlo, Sidney, and Jake. Great great aunt of Evy, Zoey, and Zayda. She is also survived by many loving cousins. She loved each of her family members more than anything and was always so loyal to each one of them. Mary Rita was retired from Louisiana Power and Light and the City of Kenner. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mary Rita was selfless, kind, humble, gentle, genuine, pure, patient, and faith filled. She was also very affectionate and loved unconditionally. She was always willing to help anyone she could and was always so giving and generous. Mary Rita could be described as saint like, a true angel here on Earth and was kind to anyone she met. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and exemplified many of the same qualities. She carried her cross with true grace and always knew that Jesus carried her when the burden of her sickness became too much. She placed all her faith and trust in Him. She had a positive outlook on life and never complained no matter how she was feeling, or what she was going through. Through it all she never lost her beautiful, most infectious smile. She truly was an example of the power of prayer and instilled the importance of faith in everyone she encountered. Mary Rita always let her light shine. She will be greatly missed by everyone she made an impact on throughout her life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner with the Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short St., Kenner.
