Mary Ann Maranto Kelly

Our beloved Mary Ann Maranto Kelly of Kenner, LA. passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024 at the age of 86. A native of New Orleans, graduated from Warren Easton High School. Mary Ann proudly worked and retired from the State of Louisiana Human Resources Department for Children and Family Services. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church & National Shrine. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Joseph Maranto and Carmen Louise Maranto, her two brothers Larry Maranto (Jane), and Johnny Maranto (Ann), and her husband Philip M. Kelly, Jr. who she looked forward to reuniting with in Heaven. She is survived by her three loving sons Philip Kelly III (Susan), Michael Kelly (Wanda), and Keith Kelly (Ivana). She adored her 8 grandchildren -Philip IV, Mary Beth, Raquel (Travis), Reed (Jamie), Chad, Katherine, Keith II, and Kolleen. Mary Ann absolutely loved her 3 great grandchildren -Dorothy, Austin, and Reese. She is also survived by her sister Gail Becnel (Carl) who prayed with her daily. She was blessed with and cherished her wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her. Mary Ann said her rosary and prayed the Divine Mercy every day. She enjoyed attending Mass at St. Ann in Metairie. She enjoyed country music and loved Elvis! She liked watching old movies like Gone with The Wind. Her favorite color was purple which she wore a lot. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially with all her grandkids and great grandkids! She loved giving presents on Christmas and birthdays to all those she loved. Her conversations would always end with “I love you”! She will be dearly missed by all. We would like to give special thanks to The Carpenter Hospice House in River Ridge that gave Mary Ann and her family comfort, peace, and great care. We also appreciate the wonderful care and kindness from Southeast Home Health especially her nurse Ashley who she loved! We also appreciate Father Billy of St. Ann for all the blessings and his comforting words for her. Services will be held on Friday September 6, 2024 at St. Ann Church and National Shrine at 4940 Meadowdale St. in Metairie. Visitation will be from 10:30am to 12:00pm with a funeral mass following. A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans
