Katherine Louise Dolese

Katherine Louise Dolese, born October 6, 1983, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 18, 2023. Katie is survived by her husband of 15 years, Drew Guajardo, their children Rebecca Therese and Charlie Ann Marie, parents Maureen Riley Dolese and Tyrus Dolese, Jr. (Helaine), siblings Ty (Paulette), Ryan (Angela) and Emily (Taylor), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Elise, grandparents Maurice and Dorothy Riley and Tyrus and Doris Dolese. Katie, an alumna of Ursuline Academy, graduated from UNO and had a successful career in the film industry as a location coordinator in New Orleans working on films and shows such as Girls Trip, G.I. Joe, Jack Reacher and NCIS New Orleans. She forged lasting friendships throughout her 17 years in the industry. A lover of life, Katie lived hers to the fullest each day. For years she participated in and led Zumba classes, worked out beside Drew and with friends and enjoyed eating sushi with her daughters. There was never a dull moment with Katie around as she was always the life of the party – singing, dancing and talking shit – Katie never met a stranger. She always looked for the best in people. A true ‘New Orleans Lady’ one of her favorite hobbies was eating lunch and talking about dinner. When ordering… remember WWKD – what would Katie do... OVER ORDER! During Mardi Gras, she was a committed reveler, parade route bartender and non-stop dancer. Katie could have fun all by herself but was never alone. Since her diagnosis in August, Katie fought bravely against an extremely rare form of cancer all the while remaining tenacious keeping a positive spirit throughout her battle. She received constant, loving care and support from her family, close friends and the ‘Poinsetta Sittas’. The family appreciates all the love and support shown to Katie and her family throughout her illness. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM at Lakeside Country Club, 1520 Rose Garden Drive.
