Cody John McCollum

Cody John McCollum born on December 26, 1990 passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the age of 34. He was a life long resident of Kenner, LA. Beloved father of Tyler McCollum (Christy),Cole McCollum (Kayla), and Jax McCollum (Taylor), Son of Jeff McCollum and the late Reba Shields McCollum. (Stepson of Patricia) Brother of Corey McCollum (Nicole) God father of Andrea McCollum. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. As we gather together to honor the life of Cody McCollum, may we remember him for the positive impact he had on the lives of those around him. Cody was known for his huge heart and vibrant personality, which radiated warmth, humor, and joy. Cody possessed a unique gift of illuminating any room he entered with that big, bright, goofy smile and effortless ability to crack a joke at any moment. He had the biggest heart and his love for his family was unwavering, and his three beautiful boys were the most important part of his life. Cody enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as sharing laughter- filled moments, swapping jokes, and playfully pulling pranks with friends and family. There was never a dull moment with him. Every moment with him was a testament to his extraordinary spirit. His strength was that big beautiful heart of his. Cody built a fulfilling career as a skilled carpenter alongside his father and brother. Cody found solace in music , which he believed healed his soul and he was blessed with the talent of creativity, evident in his music writing, drawing, and building skills. His boys were his motivation in life and he never missed a moment to tell his children how proud he was of them. Cody's happiest moments were spent with his kids. He loved fishing with his firstborn, watching Saints games with his dad and brother, playing sports, or spending quality time with his kids. His mantra was, " It’s all about family!" Cody’s memory will remain in the hearts of his children, family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The day he ascended to eternal bliss, he took a piece of the hearts of all who cherished him, leaving an in-erasable mark on our lives, yet we find comfort in knowing he basks in divine presence, his essence forever entwined with ours, and I firmly believe he smiles upon us, witnessing the abundant love that unites us in his honor, his beautiful soul continuing to inspire and bring us together in a testament that his legacy will live on forever. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Service at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
