    Virginia Pizzuto

    September 7, 1926 - February 27, 2022

    Virginia Purcello Pizzuto passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the age of 95. She was a native and resident of Kenner, LA. Virginia graduated Valedictorian from Kenner High School, in 1943. She continued her education at Soulé Business College. She worked at the office of Price Administration (OPA), during WWII. She also worked for the States-Item Newspaper. She retired as an Administrative Assistant, from the City of Kenner Planning Department. Virginia had a love for all things related to her Italian and Sicilian Heritage. She remained fluent in speaking Sicilian throughout her life. She volunteered at the Italian American Museum and many Italian Heritage events, including the OLPH St. Joseph Altar. Virginia was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a member of the OLPH Altar Society. Virginia loved and was generous to everyone she knew, family and friends alike. Beloved wife of the late Gus Pizzuto. Loving mother of Julie P. Crawford (Kevin) and Paul S. Pizzuto (Claire). Grandmother of Kelly Roberts (John), Kim Crawford, Kasey Frickey (Douglas), Noah Pizzuto, Will Pizzuto and Cate Pizzuto. Daughter of the late Josephine Maniglia Purcello and Paul Purcello. Sister of Charles Purcello (the late Mildred), Frances Clement (the late Tut) and the late Joann Mumford (Kendal). Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Delilah Methe, who showed her most gracious love and care. Also, Heart of Hospice, especially Georgiana. Virginia( Gammy, Aunt Gin, V, Pizz) will be deeply missed, but her life will continue to be celebrated by all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 4:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022.
