Rose Mary Ducote Maher

Rose Mary Ducote Maher was born April 27,1971 and gained her angel wings on November 25, 2021 on Thanksgiving Evening. She was born in New Orleans and spent her adult life in Metairie. She was 50 years old but we let her believe she was 35! She didn’t let breast cancer defeat her, she fought a tough fight. Her husband was the light of her life and her Hunny and her girls were her whole world. Rose never met a person she didn’t love and would do anything for anyone. She was the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend in the world. She loved to pray and would say novenas for whoever needed them. She loved spending time with her husband, girls and family. She loved Halloween and her Christmas hallmark movies. She was her happiest when she was with her family or when they all gathered for holidays. She loved music and to sing and dance when nobody was watching. She had such a great personality and had a smile that would light up the world. She had a natural gift with babies, they just loved her. She enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews, family and friend’s children. She would sing to them, hold them and light up and they adored her just as much. She absolutely adored her great nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Michael R Maher J.R.; her girls, Kristina F Maher, Kristian M Maher and Kandice M Maher; her mother, Fay B Ducote (Herbert J Lassalle J.R.); her siblings, Laura M Ducote (Allen Shinault) and Wallace “Johnny” Ducote J.R.; her grandchildren, Rowan Mumm, Rylee Mumm and Christopher Maher J.R.; her Step Children, Mikey, Christopher, Angela; her Godchildren, Randall “dude” DeCastro J.R., Emily Solorzano, Cecile “Nene” Umanzor and Ava DeCastro; her fur babies, Payton and Angel; a host of nieces and nephews; her mother in law, Elaine Gaspard Maher; her sisters in law and brothers in law; her sissy Jessica and her best friend Melody and many cousins and friends who loved her dearly. She was proceeded in death by her father, Wallace John Ducote S.R.; her grandparents, Rose Mitten Bourgeois and Charles G Bourgeois J.R., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bourgeois S.R.(great grandparents), Whitnor Ducote S.r. and Laura C Ducote; and her father in law, Michael Maher S.R.; sister in law, Melinda Maher DuRousseau; and brother in law, Matthew Maher S.R. She will be be missed more than she could ever have imagined Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 3:00 p.m. Her mass will be officiated by Father Michael Lanay from St. Ann Church and Shrine in Metairie, Louisiana.
