Mary Louise Migliore
January 12, 1929 - March 19, 2022
Mary Louise Migliore “B Ma”, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022 (St. Joseph’s Day Patron Saint of a holy and happy death), at the age of 93. Born with a loving sweet nature she freely offered to give a helping hand to any in need. Her positive, glass half full attitude kept her pressing on through more than her fair share of hardships. She loved working with fabrics and did so at many stores. The Yardstick was her first job on Canal Street, Downtown New Orleans where her soon to be husband was manager. She became top of all sales as her customers loved her kind, personable service and spirit. Her husband passed early at the young age of 38. Mary pressed on and continued working to support her four children and did so for 30 more years. It was difficult, now all alone, but doing it all gave her great strength and the ability not to fall. She relied on her faith in God and took one day at a time in stride. The last fabric store she worked at was Sew Smart and they treated her like family. Mary joined Parents Without Partners and loving to prepare and serve food and socialize she was on the hospitality committee at the meetings. She loved bowling and for several years was on a weekly bowling league. Mary received a special reward after bowling the “Golden Gate” split, everyone wanted her on their team. Her hobbies were making fancy dresses on dolls to sell, being a seamstress for family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, nature, and camping. She never missed planning annual summer vacations. Her favorite pastime was sharing time with family and sharing stories about them. Over the years, many times she repeated, “I want to live long enough to see my children get married, have children, and enjoy living a long, blessed life.” Having exceeded three generations it goes without saying she is highly favored and very blessed! Thank you Ann Marie, Barbara, many nurses and staff with Notre Dame Hospice for all your loving care for Mary. She loved every visit during these last three years of her beautiful, long life.
