Mary Abate Desimone Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Abate Desimone passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the age of 103 surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of Sicilian immigrants who migrated from Sicily to St. Rose and lived the majority of her life in St. Rose. Beloved wife for over 75 years to the late Nick V. Desimone. Loving mother of Judith “Judy” Desimone and the late JoAnn Desimone Rodrigue (Daniel Rodrigue). Daughter of the late Rosie Digirolamo Abate and Peter Abate. Sister of the late Nora Abate Lemoine, Vincent, Nick Philip, Joseph, Sam and Peter Abate (Karen Abate). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by many who called her NaNan. She enjoyed good times with family and going to the Casino. She loved watching the Saints and LSU sports on TV. Her warm heart, soft hugs and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to know her. She loved everyone, and when someone was leaving the house her words were always “I love you, be careful and come back.” The family would also like to thank Gulf South Hospice, Counsel for the Aging Medical team in St. Charles Parish, Faye, Ann and Peggy for their expertise, kindness and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, July 26, 2021. Visitation will be held at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short St. , Kenner at 12:30 p.m. Interment in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
