Lowell Bernard Rodrigue Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lowell Bernard Rodrigue passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the age of 97. He was a native of Edgard, LA and a resident of River Ridge, LA. Lowell was a 1941 graduate from Destrehan High School. He attended LSU until he served in the Navy during WW II from 1943 to 1946. Lowell was wounded in the American Campaign in the Peleliu Islands. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal as well as the American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific and WW II Victory Medals and a Unit Citation Ribbon. He was a life long member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Lowell retired in January 1985 after 29 years as District Manager of American Greeting Cards. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church for 50 years. Lowell enjoyed golf, collecting antique cars, and traveling with “Baby Mae.” He was a passionate fan of LSU and the Saints. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Carrie Mae “Baby Mae” Vitrano Rodrigue. Loving father of Jody Anne R. Breaud (Thomas) and Mona Rose R. Porter. Grandfather of Christopher Breaud, Sr. (Shantell), Colin Breaud (Melissa), Jonathan Porter (Katie) and Chelsea Porter (Chris). Great grandfather of Christopher Breaud, Jr., Cassidy Breaud, Sebastian Breaud, Jack Porter, River Trestick, Caper Trestick, Tyteana Weber (Taj) and the late Calista Breaud. Great great grandfather of Tori Weber and Trinity Weber. Son of the late Felicie Leger Rodrigue and Albert Joseph Rodrigue. Brother of the late Leona R. Lobell and Leatrice R. Tardo Lobell. The family would like to give a special thank you to his caretaker, Patrice Dunbar, for the special care she gave to both Mr. Rod and Ms. Mae. Also, a special thanks to Carla Segura for her spiritual care and support for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, December 27, 2021 at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner. The visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan, LA.
