October 19, 1934 - July 23, 2017
Kermit Edward Brown passed away after four courageous battles against cancer, succumbing to the fifth peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017. He was born in Hoagland, IN to Lloyd Carlton Brown and Ruth Barbara Kathryn Brown at their home in 1934. He as a resident of Kenner for the past 40 years and a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He married his wife Dawn Pauline Angold Brown in 1958 in Fort Wayne IN. Dawn passed away in 2014, but their adventures in life were only enriched by their children. They had 3 children Stephen Lloyd Brown, of New Orleans LA, Michael Allen Brown (Diane) of Metairie LA, and Suzanne Pauline Cessac Bergeron (Charles) of Slidell LA who continued on Kermit and Dawn’s adventures in life. Kermit and Dawn were then rewarded with their favorite granddaughter Ashley Pauline Cessac and favorite grandson Kyle Paul Cessac. This group would go on many family vacations, attending fairs and festivals. He had a joyous childhood with his 4 brothers and dog Pepper in Hoagland IN. Their bond only became stronger as they aged. His four brothers Brice Brown (Shirley) of Kokomo IN, Lynn Brown of Bloomington IN, Gene Brown (Margaret) of Franklin TN and Dean Brown (Helen) of Fort Wayne IN all enjoyed time spent with Kermit. These five families gather every year for the annual Brown family reunion sharing old and new stories. A good time is always had by all, as if no time has passed since their last gathering. He was a graduate of Hoagland High School and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Statistics. He worked for Lift-Tech as Regional Sales Manager for 35 years and Peter Mayer advertising in retirement. He always managed to balance work, play and family with his wonderful sense of humor. As a memorial to Kermit, please remember his love of food, unique sense of humor and kind heart. Have a great meal with a Martini (gin, dry on the rocks preferably) and toast his wonderful life. Spread Kermit’s unique sense of humor with a stranger and share his love of laughter. Share his kindness by doing a good deed for a stranger with a smile. A private family garden burial service was held uniting him with his wife Dawn. A celebration of his life will be held with his brothers in the Midwest at a later date. Arrangements by L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home.
