Kathleen McKinley Poissenot Montamat Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kathleen McKinley Poissenot Montamat passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the age of 85. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie for the past 51 years. Kathleen was an active member of South Lake Metairie AARP Chapter No. 4273 and Just For Fun ladies social club. In her younger years, Kathleen was an avid bowler and enjoyed raising violets. Beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Montamat, Jr. Loving mother of Pamela M. Routt (Robert), Noel J. Montamat (Brenda) and Michael J. Montamat (Sharon). Grandmother of Michael Routt (Roxy), Justin Montamat, Robert Routt, III (Ali), Danielle Montamat (Derek), Katie Celestin (Carey), Shelley Bayer (Adam) and Michael Montamat, Jr. Great grandmother of Robbie Routt, Kevin Faller, Derek Faller, Jr., Ian Routt, Delilah Montamat, Carter Routt, Decker Routt, Parker Celestin, Graham Celestin, Owen Bayer and Finn Routt. Biological daughter of the late Alice Clara Borne McKinley and George Millis McKinley. Following the death of her mother, shortly after her birth, she was loving reared and eventually adopted by her mother’s sister America Victoria Borne and her husband Paul Peter Poissenot. Sister of the late Merlin J. McKinley, Shirley M. Foto, Miriam P. D’Aquin, Lloyd J. Poissenot, Paul A. Poissenot and Emile H. Poissenot. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA on Friday, February11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
