    Genevieve "Jenny" Barbier Veau

    July 3, 1933 - March 7, 2022

Genevieve “Jenny” Barbier Veau Heaven gained an angel when our sweet mama passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Sandi, on March 7th, 2022 at the age of 88 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and complications from a stroke. Jenny is predeceased by the love of her life Edmond “Bubby” Veau, her parents Emile and Irene Barbier, her in-laws Eddie and Annetta Veau, and her siblings Emily, Irene, Buddy, Cotton, Doris, and Poopa. Jenny is survived by 4 children, Sandi, Dan, Cindy (Andy), and Wendy (David); 4 grandchildren, Danielle (Jesse), Christian, Rachel, and Gia; 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Lily, and Adam; and her baby sister, Patsy. Jenny is also survived by her grandpups Meathead, Graycie, and Greta, her grandbird P.T. Cruiser, along with numerous family and friends. Jenny’s love for life in general, for people and for animals was immeasurable. Her dancing, vibrant blue eyes and smile welcomed all who met her. She lit up a room when she entered. One of her favorite places on Earth was the Audubon Zoo, specifically the white alligator exhibit. Her visit was never complete without a cup of Belgian chocolate Haagan-Dazs ice cream. Another was the beauty salon. She adored her “salon family”. Jenny was a God fearing woman and treasured her church family at the Village Church Lutheran. A special heart felt thanks is extended to Theresa Fleming, who took such great care of Jenny for the past year and to Frank Larosa for his visits to serenade Jenny. When she saw Frank, her eyes twinkled and she smiled from ear to ear. He was her crush. The family would also like to thank Heart of Hospice, especially Latita Bradley, for their quality and compassionate care. All are invited to a celebration of life in the fall (details will be forthcoming). A private memorial service was previously held. Please consider a donation in Jenny’s memory to either the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org or the Audubon Zoo, www.audubonrecoveryfund.com To share memories or condolences, please visit www.muhleisen.com
