Esther May Patricia Teresa Maney
February 13, 1935 - December 11, 2020
Esther May Patricia Teresa Maney earned her wings on Friday December 11, 2020. At the age of 85, she transitioned peacefully into our Heavenly Kingdom. She was a native of Convent, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. She was born February 13, 1935, as a beloved daughter to Fannie Lebouef Maney and Robert Maney. Sister of the late Vivian M. Radcliff, Norman Maney, Curtis Maney and Audrey M. Noel. Aunt of Pamela Robinson (Thomas), Huey Noel (Monica), Rya Wolf (Isidore) and Starr Ferina (Brandon). She is also survived by a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and extended family members to cherish her legacy. Esther May Maney attended Holy Ghost Catholic Grammar School and a graduate of Walter L. Cohen Senior High. In her later years Esther did secretarial work and enjoyed working with children in a school setting. Esther's greatest role in life was being a second mom to her family. She was exemplary as being a loving and devoted caretaker to all of her "extended children" (Ra'Jae', Noel, Tavian, Isabella, Isidore lV, Caspian Wolf). Esther was a kind hearted woman who embraced anyone she met with a smile. As an angel amongst us she unselfishly gave her Time, Love, Laughter and Wisdom to all who encountered her. As an avid Saints fan Esther highly enjoyed football season and always had an array of her favorite sports team souvenirs. Her favorite hobbies included, Social Gatherings, Playing Cards, Bingo and watching her favorite TV shows. She also enjoyed eating a good meal with family and friends. In her younger days Esther was a member of the Pity Pig-Tails Social Club. In 2018 Esther May was crowned queen of the highly anticipated "Fleur de Lafon" Mardi Gras ball hosted at Lafon retirement home. Esther was a devout Catholic; if she was not in attendance at mass where she resided at, then she faithfully watched a service remotely. She will leave a profound memory for all who love and adore her. The bright light that was embedded in her soul will forever be imprinted into our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 2015 Louisiana Ave, New Orleans, LA. on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Family will be receiving guests for the viewing at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. All attendees are required to wear facemask during this pivotal time. Family wishes to express in advance our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your acts of love and kindness shown to us during our bereavement. If you are unable to attend services your thoughts, prayers and words of encouragements have helped us more than you will ever know. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.muhleisen.com
