Annette Marie Matherne Gauthreaux passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the age of 82. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Destrehan. Annette was a lifelong parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church where she spent every Friday morning assisting with the cleaning of the church with her dear friend, Jeannette Centanni. She retired from S.G.S. Control Services. Annette enjoyed cooking for her family every Sunday known as Family Day. Beloved wife of the late Robert Charles Gauthreaux. Loving mother of Patricia G. Clouser (Paul), Wade P. Gauthreaux (Sheryl), Laurie G. Surmik (Don) and Gwyn G. Lydell (George). Grandmother of Brandi Jackson (Chase), David Clouser (Anna), Abbie LeRouge (Jeff), Marci Gauthreaux, Brant Gauthreaux (Kelsey), Donald “Don” Surmik, Jr. (Kristin), Jenna Surmik (Corey), Kaitlyn Roberts (Cedric), Logan Lydell (Sarah), Dylan Lydell (Holly) and Kacie Lydell. “Maw Maw Suga” to 13 great grandchildren and one on the way and preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Baby Roberts. Daughter of the late Helia Peltier Matherne and Icar Joseph Matherne. Sister of JoAnn Matherne Laurent, Janet Matherne Lowry and the late Donald “Buddy” Anthony Matherne and infant sister Gloria Matherne. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd., Destrehan. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Arrangements by L. A.
