Angela “Angel” Simmons passed way on April 25, 2021 at the age of 64. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Laplace, LA. Devoted wife to Charles Simmons for almost 34 and a half years. Beloved mother of Kendra and Kennethra Conn, Tierza Simmons-Guggenheimer (Steven) and Angel Simmons-Lincoln (Kendall). Grandmother of Breianna, Bre’Ale, and Travis Lewis, Jahiry McKee, Natalia Rae and Chloe Rita Guggenheimer, and Braeden Noah. Daughter of the late Rosemary Chapman Weaver and Alex Weaver. Sister of Kenny Guidry (Tammy), Anthony (Linda), Carl, Claudia, Darnell (Ann), Don and Tyronne Weaver, and Brigette Eddington (Donald). Also survived by a host of Brothers and Sisters-in-laws, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. After being introduced to the truth around 1979, she spent several years balancing family and other responsibilities all the while verifying the things she’d heard. Angel was always a spiritual person first. A year or two after moving to Kenner in 1988, she began seeking out the Kingdom Hall. After examining the truth with a knowledgeable and compassionate sister, attending meetings, Angel d eveloped close unbreakable bonds with the friends that last even to this day, Angel was baptized on June 1, 1995, pioneered for 18 years before health concerns slowed her. In 2016 she began to continuous auxiliary pioneer, completing her faithful, dedicated service of Jehovah for almost 26 years. Her first love was doing Jehovah’s will and family, both literal and spiritual. Angel had an extremely outgoing personality. She never met a stranger and had a smile that instantly made you feel special. It really lit up the room. She had a Zealous, Generous spirit that was infectious. Angel diligently applied the principle at Proverbs 17:17 “A true companion is loving all the time and is a brother that is born for when there is distress.” Whether in the hospital, needing financial assistance, or anything within her power, she was always willing to help the friends in any way she could. She would often say “I gotta go on a run.” Which often referred to visiting a friend to encourage, assist or just to say hello. No matter how she was feeling, her concern for the friends, the preaching work and commenting at the meetings was always a high priority for Angel. Our family would like to acknowledge and thank everyone for their support, prayers and visits during this difficult time. Yes, her spirit was infectious. Her smile indelibly imprinted in the minds and hearts of all she met. Most importantly, in all she did, her love for Jehovah and our King Christ Jesus was evident. (Matthew22:37, 39) May everyone who knew “My Angel” be comforted by our great God Jehovah, (Phil. 4:7) as she rests for just a little while. When I came home for a visit, she would take me many places and would show me many people that loved her. I remember one Chinese restaurant made a donation several times to the Kingdom Hall, even though they had never attended a meeting, because they could feel the love she had for Jehovah and them. N- Never gave up 2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day Even though she didn’t have the best of health , she Never gave up , and enjoyed and worked hard in the ministry She shared an experience with me about a young man selling insurance, and she had just come back from the convention talking about the prodigal son, she witnessed to him, discovered he was disfellowshipped, two years later she got a phone call from the young man saying he had returned, she was so happy he came back to the truth. G- Glad to be in Jehovah’s Proverbs 8:30– I being glad before him all the time. E- Eager to help others, being by their side in the most difficult times in their lives Proverbs 17:17 A true companion is loving all the time and is a brother that is born for when there is distress Friends in the hospital, needed financial assistance, she was always willing to help in any way she could. L- Love Jehovah, spiritual and physical family and want to see those who are not studying the Bible to study and come to know the God she loved ❤? I know it won’t be long before we can be reunited with my Mom and I pray we all remember the beautiful qualities, zealous spirit, and the big heart she had for Jehovah and others, and her support for me serving in a foreign country. John 5:28, 29– Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life. With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Love you, Kendra❤?????????
