Veronika Trenkle Morales,” Vroni,” a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished sister, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, at her home in Metairie, surrounded by her adoring daughters. Born on April 30, 1939, in Regensburg, Germany, Veronika's life was filled with love, passion, and a deep connection to her heritage. Veronika was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Anita M. Abraham, and her first grandson, Robert J. West. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Claudia, Patricia, and Monica Morales, and sons-in-law, Rich Zamora and Robbie Jarrell, who were the center of her world. Veronika's heart overflowed with pride and joy for her family, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her grandchildren, Kristen Abraham Warihay, James Abraham, Joshua and Jonah Morales, Zoe Martin Morales, and Jake Zamora, and great-grandchildren Ace and Gunner Warihay, held a special place in Veronika's heart. She showered them with affection, and their laughter brought immense happiness to her soul. Veronika also leaves behind her cherished brothers, Vincent and Peter, and her sister, Rita. They shared a deep bond of love and support, and their memories together will forever be treasured. As a passionate reader, Veronika's love for books knew no limits. After retiring from her career as a medical assistant, she found her way to Barnes & Noble, where she worked to immerse herself in the world of literature. Books became her gateway to knowledge, imagination, and endless adventures. Veronika briefly resided in Parker, Colorado, as its resemblance to her homeland evoked fond memories of her beloved Germany; also enjoying her time living with her German best friends Ingrid and Randy Minten. The sights and sounds transported her back to the beauty of her youth, providing solace and comfort. In addition to her love for reading, Veronika had a deep appreciation for music, particularly the iconic band ABBA. Their melodies brought her joy and served as the soundtrack to cherished moments in her life. Veronika's nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she felt a strong connection to the Native American culture. To honor this connection, she made generous donations to the World Wildlife Fund and supported causes that resonated with her spirit. Veronika's love for her German roots remained steadfast, and she frequently visited her homeland, immersing herself in the rich history and reconnecting with her heritage. Her love for knitting allowed her to express her creativity and create beautiful pieces that warmed the hearts of her loved ones. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation and Memorial Service at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 pm.
