Robert "Wayne" Tracy

Robert “Wayne” Tracy, was a devoted husband, father, brother, veteran, and a lifelong leader, was called home by the Lord on August 29, 2025 at the age of 76. As a lifelong resident of Kenner, Wayne’s life was marked by unwavering faith, commitment to his community, and an unmeasurable love for his family. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy West Tracy; his daughter Erin Tracy Griffin and her husband Joel; his son Kyle Tracy and his wife Kristina Lotz Tracy; his sister Diane Tracy Alesich and brother-in-law J. Lou; his godson Jonathan Alesich; his brother-in-law Jesse West and sister-in-law Susan; his niece Lauren West; his nephew Brennan West and his wife Taylor; his great nephews Chace Alesich, Mason West, and Luke West; and his beloved dog Bella. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” Tracy and Geraldine “Jerry” Broadwater Tracy. After graduating from East Jefferson High School in 1968, Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy to proudly and graciously serve his country for over 8 years. Once his time was complete with the Navy, Wayne was honorably discharged which allowed him to meet the love of his life. From this point forward, Wayne was able to start a beautiful life and family with Judy. Throughout Wayne’s life, he continued his life of service as an Elder and Youth Leader at Parkway Presbyterian Church in Metairie, LA. Wayne’s other community engagements allowed him to be a dedicated member and Past Post Commander of the American Legion Jefferson Post 267. While at Jefferson Post 267, Wayne supported fellow veterans and community members alike. Other than Wayne’s devotion to his family, his greatest legacy will be his dedication in his decades of devotion and service to the Boy Scouts of America. Wayne was the founding Cub Master and Scout Master of Pack 710 and Troop 710 at Kehoe France School. As a Life Scouter for over 60 years, Wayne has left an impression and while mentoring thousands of young people by embodying the Scout Oath and Law within everything he did. Wayne’s steady presence, generous spirit, and warm heart will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew him. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025 at John Calvin Presbyterian Church at 4201 Transcontinental Dr. Metairie, LA 70006. Visitation will be from 10am to 1pm, with funeral service to follow.
