Owen M. Gray, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Owen M. Gray Jr. a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved brother and treasured friend, who departed this life on July 3, 2025 at the age of 81 years old. Owen was the true definition of a family man-loving, selfless, and unwavering in his devotion. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by those he loved, and he gave everything he had to ensure their happiness and well-being. His home was filled with love, warmth and the comfort of knowing you were always welcome. He was known not only for his kind heart and giving soul but for also being someone who saved everything – old photographs, letters, tools, cards, receipts and treasures both big and small. He believed every item told a story and through those memories, he preserved a legacy of love, family history, and meaning that will live on through generations. Every treasure had a story, and he made sure we all knew the stories. Hard work was at the core of who he was. Owen poured his energy into providing for his family and leading by example. He taught those around him the value of determination, loyalty, and doing the right thing-even when no one was watching. Owen worked for Earl’s plumbing for many years before becoming the proud owner and master plumber of his own company, O-N-Gray Plumbing. He built his company from the ground up through hard work, dedication and commitment to doing things the right way. He took pride I every job, and treated every customer like family. He spent his life working with his hands, building a respected career. Rain or shine, weekday or weekend, he showed up and with a strong work ethic that spoke louder than words. His dedication was unmatched, and he was proud to do an honest day’s work. He passed down more than tools – he passed down values. His legacy lives on in the countless jobs he helped keep running and the lives he quietly touched along the way. Through the many quiet acts of kindness, he was always offering a helping hand, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from a life well lived. Owen is preceded in death by his parents, Myra and Albert Biehl, wife Mary Gray and son Owen Michael Gray. He is survived by his daughter, Carin Hunter (Mark Specht); son, Robert “Matt” Gray (Jennifer Gray); grandchildren, Richard Hunter, III and Cheyenne Gray; godchild, Bridget Lackey; brothers and sisters, Helen Uhler, Albert “Danny” Biehl (Brenda Biehl), Betty Baldus (Rick Baldus), Mary Lackey, William (Bob) Biehl, and Edwin Biehl; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a part of his love and legacy moving forward. To Owen everyone was family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by performing a simple act of kindness or preserving something meaningful for someone you love- just as he always did.
