Nicky Doyle Johnson

Nicky Doyle Johnson was born on August 10, 1950, in Sikeston, Missouri, and was a long-time resident of River Ridge, Louisiana. He left this world to join his loved ones in Heaven on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 74. Nicky graduated from Martin Behrman High School in 1969. He joined the Army and then married the love of his life, Rhonda, on October 2, 1971. Together, they provided a fabulous life for their daughter, Christy. Nicky was an animal lover and dog trainer, loved a mocha Frappé (from McDonald’s over Starbucks), and was known as a man of few words. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on his front porch with his loyal canine companion, Ace. More than anything, Nicky enjoyed being PawPaw to his grandson, Gavin, and watching him play ball. Nicky is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rhonda Laborde Johnson; parents, Bert and Maxine Johnson; brothers Larry, David, Brad, and Doug Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Bertha Laborde; sister-in-law Carleen Hughes; brother-in-law Don Laborde; and numerous beloved pets -- Bo, Candy, and Butch, to name a few. Nicky is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Kelvin Simeon; grandson, Gavin Simeon; dog, Ace, and cat, Cakes; brothers, Sam and Steven Johnson; Goddaughter, Alexis Fox, her husband, Jonathan Fox, and their son, Jack; nephew, Don Laborde II, his wife, Kelly, and their son, Wes; best neighbor, Lisa Poppe; and numerous other nieces, nephews, in-laws (including Sandy, Pam, and Karen Johnson), and family and friends who meant everything to him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nicky's celebration of life at L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
