Kenneth Jay Bolton

Kenneth Jay Bolton, 70, passed away in the presence of his heavenly father on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Annette Bolton, whom Ken cherished and adored everyday. Ken leaves behind to cherish his humble godly life: his daughters Jennifer Bolton and her children Marty, Michaela, Marnay, and Colton and Tina Helge-Smith and her children Megan and Ashlyn, as well as his stepdaughter, Robin Bone (Mark) and their children Benjamin and Lauren. Ken is the son of the late Andrew and Lottie Bell Bolton. Brother of Carol Koon(Greg), Wayne Bolton and the late Eileene Leonard. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved. Ken also leaves behind many amazing friendships made over the years. If Ken called you a friend, you were his brother/sister for life. Ken cherished life, the people in his life and dearly loved his family. He loved riding on his motorcycle and had a big heart for any animal that crossed his path. Ken had many talents and faces of himself. He served in the US Army from 1961-1967, was a deputy for the Escambia County Sheriff's Department in Pensacola, FL, served as a City Councilman in Atmore, AL, and worked in the oil business for many years as a consultant. Although he had many duties, he always felt his greatest call of duty that he loved more than any other, was being a loving grandfather. This was always apparent by the sparkle in his blue eyes when he was with or spoke of them. Ken was a member of Williams Blvd Baptist Church, where he loved and served God. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Williams Blvd. Baptist Church, 3000 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70065 on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 12 noon. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. until noon. Following the service friends and family are invited to attend a fellowship luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the physicians and staff of Fairway Medical Center as well as the Louisiana Heart Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated medical care extended to Ken. Finally, a special thank you to Philip Stonecipher for being the families' spiritual rock and to all our friends and family who have sent much appreciated prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Special needs Ministry at Williams Blvd. Baptist Church (504) 443-2363. This was a ministry that Ken enjoyed and cherished dearly.
