Keith Francis Fournier

Keith Frances Fournier, 59, passed away on November 19, 2024, in Kenner, LA. Keith was born the son of LeRoy and Jerri Fournier on September 26, 1965, in Mason City, IA. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1984. He furthered his education at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he graduated in 1988 with degrees in Accounting and Geography. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career that began at USG in Fort Dodge, IA, immediately after college. Keith's professional life was a testament to his dedication and work ethic, taking him from Iowa to California, Chicago, Alabama, and finally to New Orleans. In California, Keith's personal life blossomed as he became a husband and father. Fatherhood was a role Keith cherished deeply and he was a central figure in the life of his daughters, Megan and Courtney Fournier and his stepson, Daniel Monks. Keith's passion for sports was unparalleled; he was an enthusiastic supporter of college and professional teams alike. His time in Chicago solidified his lifelong support for the Cubs, sharing many memorable trips to the ballpark with his daughter Megan and their fellow fans. Keith's competitive spirit found a perfect outlet in his love for playing darts and pool. He was a fixture in pool leagues throughout his adult life and relished the camaraderie and challenge of national tournaments. His analytical mind and precision made him a formidable opponent during his weekly matches. New Orleans was a perfect fit for Keith's love for music and history. He reveled in the city's vibrant live music scene, attending concerts and festivals whenever possible. Keith was also a frequent visitor to the WWII Museum, eager to share this passion with friends and family. His adventurous spirit took him to numerous historical sites in both the US and abroad, satisfying his endless curiosity about the world. Keith's legacy is one of a life well-lived, characterized by the pursuit of knowledge, joy in shared experiences, and a deep appreciation for the connections he made along the way. He was a man who valued the thoughtful analysis of life's complexities and faced each new adventure with enthusiasm and an open heart. Those left to cherish memories of Keith are his step-son Daniel Monks of Tampa, Florida, daughters Megan Fournier of New Orleans, Louisiana and Courtney Fournier of Panama City, Florida; Karen(Dave)Swanson of Brighton, Colorado, Michael(Karleen) Fournier of Belmond, Iowa and Bruce Fournier of Mason City, Iowa as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. As we bid farewell to Keith Frances Fournier, we celebrate a life rich in experiences and filled with love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Keith's journey may have come to an end, but the stories of his life will be told with fondness and admiration for years to come.
