Jean Ann Huet Hogh

Jean Ann Huet Hogh passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the age of 84. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Jean was a graduate of St. Mary’s Dominican High School, a member of St. Dominic Parish, and a member of SAGA (Smocking Arts Guild of America). She was a seamstress and fine needle artist and an avid reader. She loved cooking, crocheting, knitting, cross stitching and praying the rosary. She especially loved the holidays when all of her family was gathered around her. Jean was a self-taught fine needle artist of exclusive heirloom children’s clothing. She was a wonderful mother who sacrificed everything for her children. There was never a need or want she didn’t fulfill. As a devout Catholic, she instilled a strong faith and devotion to God the Father, Jesus His Son, the Holy Spirit, and the Blessed Mother. She had a lifelong devotion to St. Therese of Lisieux, “The Little Flower.” She empowered her children to believe they could be anything they wanted to be in life. She was always uplifting and encouraging and taught her children to be strong, self-reliant and resilient. Mama was a remarkable, intelligent, and tenacious woman. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Mama tried to protect us all from hurt and sorrow all of our lives. The last sorrow though she couldn’t take away because it was for her. We will love you, Mama, always and forever. She was the former wife of 18 years to George H. Hogh. Loving mother of David Michael Hogh, Laura Hogh Truelove, Susan Hogh Bailey (Rhett) and Reneé Anne Hogh. Grandmother of Alexander Rex Truelove, Arianne Elena Truelove, Nicholas Joseph Hogh, Gavin Friedrich Bailey, Luke Matthew Hogh and Chloe Reneé Hogh. Daughter of the late Aline Monvoisin Huet and Rene Joseph Huet. We would like to thank Fr. Beau Charbonnet of St. Angela Merici Parish for his kindness and service during this difficult time.
