On October 31st, 2022 Dawn Marie Kahrs Egler gained her Angel wings suddenly in the early hours of the morning. Dawn meaning ‘The beginning of a phenomenon or period of time, especially one considered favorable.’ Which held true to the life she lived to those she loved. Her sun set at the young age of 49 years old. Dawn was born September 9th, 1973 to her loving parents Bill and Anne Kahrs. She grew up in Kenner, Louisiana alongside her two older sisters Tonja and Annette. Dawn mothered 3 children, Alexis Kahrs, Ethan Monica, and Blake Egler, as well as her 2 bonus children Ashleigh Egler and Kelsey Egler. She was known as the world’s greatest mimi to her 6 beautiful grandchildren who loved her more than life itself. Her favorite thing in the world was having all of her blended family together to eat and watching all of her grandchildren play. Dawn was a lover of many things, especially animals and arts and crafts. There was never a time that she wasn’t trying to take in a stray to nurture and care for or a blanket she wasn’t crocheting. She showed her love through handmade gifts or ones that would instantly make you laugh as soon as you open it. She was so very perfect in a way that as soon as you met her, you’d never forget her. Dawn was survived by her wonderful husband John L. Egler, Jr. who showed her a love for travel and always met her crazy antics with a smirk and an eye roll. They married on June 1st, 2013 and went on to love each other and work as a team for many years and immensely spoiled their 5 children together. Everyone who knows Dawn has a “crazy Dawn story” because she was honestly the wild card in the family and was always up to something. She poured her heart and soul into every person she came in contact with and was truly a great friend and second mom to many. Her best friend and Maid of Honor, Aimee Lasseigne considered Dawn her other half, soul sister, and closest friend of almost 20 years. Dawn will truly be missed by so many people who cannot wait to hear another “crazy Dawn story” from her one day again. “You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone.
