Cathy Bertolino Gudan

Cathy Bertolino Gudan was surrounded by her family as she peacefully entered eternal rest at the age of 62 on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Cathy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 26, 1960, to the late Rita Marino Bertolino and Anthony Joseph Bertolino who raised six children in Kenner, Louisiana. On April 2, 1981, she married Clint Lawrence Gudan. They raised four sons and were married 41 years. She attended Bonnabel High School and received a degree from River Parishes Community College in Reserve, Louisiana. In the spirit of her Italian Heritage, she supported and participated in Italian traditions such as the Kenner Italia Festa, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church St. Rosalia Procession in Kenner and the East Jefferson Irish-Italian Parade. Cathy was an active member and served as an officer for the East Jefferson Italian American Society. She enjoyed family events, casino trips and researching family genealogy. Cathy will be remembered as a fun-loving, caring, and talented lady who loved parades, celebrations, and the New Orleans Saints. She adored her family as she was her happiest when she was among them. Cathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband Clint Lawrence Gudan, son of the late Sylvia Sietzen Gudan and John A. Gudan; her beloved sons: Anthony J. “Tony” Bertolino, Major Clint L. Gudan, Jr. United States Army (Megan); Ryan A. Gudan (Dena) and Tyler J. Gudan; her sisters: Regina M. Bertolino, Rita Anne Bertolino, and Lisa Bertolino Becnel (Troy); her brothers: Alberto M. “Al” Bertolino (Donna) and Salvadore S. “Sal” Bertolino (Dodie); 5 adored grandchildren: Anthony Joseph, Cayla Lynn, Ann Marie, Eleanor Harper Brown and John William Henry; Aunts: Rosalie Marino Weber, Marie Bertolino Marchese and Nancy Bertolino Waguespack (Ronald); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Cathy so very much. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Monday, June 13, 2022. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
