Blossom Louderbough Lentini

Blossom Dorothy Louderbough Lentini passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Born in New Sarpy, LA on December 14, 1923, to the late Herbert Richard Louderbough and Mary Theresa Cargol Louderbough. She was a 1941 graduate of Destrehan High School. Blossom married the love of her life, Salvador J. Lentini on November 7, 1942. They resided in Kenner, LA where she would catch the train from Kenner to New Orleans to go to work at the Army Recruiting Office during W.W. II. where she was a clerical typist and also worked at the Louisiana Vital Statistic’s Office located in New Orleans. Blossom and Sal’s prayers were answered when they were blessed with their two loving daughters, Lisa and Karen. From then on she was a stay at home mom and the “woman behind the man”, for the Honorable Chief Sal of the city of Kenner for 38 years. It was a job! Upon Sal’s retirement they moved to and resided in St. Rose, LA. Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Salvador J. Lentini. World’s Best Mother of Lisa Lentini (Melinda Miller) and Karen Lentini and wonderful grandmother to Nathan J. Leathers, adventurous train riding “maw maw” continued her devotion to her only grandchild never missing his activities, performances and award ceremonies. Loving sister of the late Herbert Richard Louderbough, Jr. (Judy) and the late Inez May L. Centanni (Joe). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and her devoted caretakers, Team Blossom, Ms. Beulah, Ms. Maggie, Ms. Dee, and Ms. Kookie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by Words of Remembrance from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Following the burial, a Celebration of Life will be held at St. Rose Community Church, 627 St. Rose Ave, St. Rose, LA. It is our sincere hope that our family and friends will join us on this special day to honor the memory of an extraordinary woman. She was a devout believer, an avid daily reader of the Bible, a loving wife, mother, Maw Maw, Aunt B, Ms. B, and the cherished founder of Team Blossom. Together, we give glory to God for allowing us to know such a remarkable individual who astounded doctors and maintained a clear mind just 47 days short of her 100th birthday!
