Betty Hinrichs Held

Betty Hinrichs Held, 79, native of New Orleans, Louisiana, resident of Mandeville, LA and recent resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024. Betty was born on July 22, 1944, as the youngest of 14 children, to the late Bertha and Otto Hinrichs. She is preceded in death by her son, Brian A. Held, Jr., siblings: Bertha Heumann, Shirley Hinrichs, Gloria Guidry, Otto Hinrichs, Jr., Henry Hinrichs, Elaine Sorensen, Richard Hinrichs, Allen Hinrichs, Carol Braud, and Linda Johnson. She leaves behind her brother, Maxwell (Buster) Hinrichs, many nieces, nephews, their families, and her friends whose lives she poured into over the years. They will cherish the precious memories they had with her. Betty grew up in the Carrollton area of New Orleans, attended Mater Dolorosa, and graduated from L. E. Rabouin High in New Orleans. As a young girl she worked at several theaters: the Poplar Theater, which ironically was where her parents first met decades prior, Saenger Orleans, and Cinerama on Tulane. Throughout her adult years, she worked at: Federal Reserve, Hibernia National Bank, Eckerd Pharmacy, Service Merchandise and JC Penney. She received countless recognitions through the years for her exceptional customer service and incredible work ethic. She was a true example of serving others at work and in her personal life. Whether you just met Betty, or knew her for many years, you could not help but feel her contagious joy that came from her unwavering faith in Jesus. He was truly at the center of her life, which was evident in how she approached life and shared His love with those she encountered. She had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and a very gracious and thankful heart. Family meant the world to her, and she enjoyed sharing memories of special times with family and friends. In the last year of her life, she took an interest in BINGO, which came as a great surprise to many! Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Tribute at 11:00 am, and Funeral Mass at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Boulevard, Kenner, Louisiana 70062. Burial to follow at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
