Bernie Henderson, Jr.

Bernie Henderson, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1957 to the late Bernie Henderson, Sr. and Quanita Wright Henderson in Monroe, Louisiana. Bernie held a position as operations manager at IMTT in Chesapeake, VA. Bernie was a God-fearing man. He was a member of Garden of Prayer Worship Center, New Fellowship Deliverance Church, and Crossroads Church. A man that never met a stranger, Bernie was a friend to those in need and lived a life of reverence and service. He was a man of many trades, including a lawn care business owner, florist, barber, usher, and baker. Bernie had an appreciation for music, often playing jazz, classical, and more. He had a love of motorcycles. He was always dressed and dapper in his classic attire. Above all else, Bernie loved his family. He was a father figure to many, and his guidance, love and kind spirit will be missed by those that loved him. He was predeceased by his father and mother Bernie Henderson, Sr. and Quanita Wright Henderson; his father and mother in law, Royal and Lizzie Harris, Sr; and his siblings in law Dickie and Jackie Harris. Left to cherish Bernie’s memory is his loving wife, Myrna Harris Henderson; beloved children, William E. Lane IV; Brenge’ D. Henderson, Caleb R. Henderson; and goddaughter, Ajoya McCullough. He leaves behind siblings, Cynthia Henderson, Sheila Auqurson, Stephanie Carter, Cedric Henderson, Robert Henderson, Marcus Henderson, Raymond Henderson; a special sister, Theresa Demby; and sister-in-law, Cassandra Harris. Lastly, he will be missed by his 8 grandchildren, Termaine and Rhea Henderson-Iriarte, Calen Henderson, Jamar Carter, William V, Gabrielle and Octavia Lane, and John Edmonds; a daughter in law, Erica Lane; and 7 great-grandchildren, Messiah, Ivy, Jaia, Leilani, Brielle, Rayne, and Carmelo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation for Bernie at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Visitation will start at 12:00 p.m. till 2:30 p.m., with a procession to his final resting place at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Rose, LA to directly follow.
