Andrey Rene Barquero

Andrey René Barquero, 73, passed away peacefully on the 27th of February 2021. He surrendered his soul to our eternal lord along side were his wife, children and siblings at his home in Gretna, Louisiana. Andrey Rene Barquero Santos was born on 24th October, 1947 in La Ceiba, Honduras. He is the son of the late María Guadalupe and Julio Andrés Barquero. He graduated from Francisco Morazan, the first bilingual school in the nation, with honors. He received his Bachelor of Science and Art degree from Manuel Bonilla Colegio. He worked at the Standard Fruit and Steamship Company, Le Ceiba, Honduras. In his role there he served as the company CPA and cargo Inspector. René was born and raised in Bario Ingles. He recounted so many memories of his past. He always told his children, I had the best childhood anyone could ever ask for. His childhood home was off the coast of the Caribbean Sea. He was an avid swimmer, and loved getting himself into the most challenging of circumstances in the deep waters of the sea. When he worked as a Seaman, one of his favorite things to do in life was to jump off of marine ships and platforms to swim in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. As a child of the sea, he loved the ocean. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Aracely Barquero. Father of José René Barquero, and father-in-law of Sara Posadas Barquero. Father of Andrey A. Barquero, and father-in-law of Flavia Mujica Barquero. Father of Nerissa Barquero Ledet, and father-in-law of Aaron Augustine Ledet. Father of Ivana Barquero Oliva, and father-in-law of Rodolfo Oliva Jr. Brother of Elva Welker, Enrique Barquero, Jose Barquero, and brother-in-law of Carmen Barquero, Rina Mejia, and brother-in-law of Arturo Mejia, Belinda Barquero, Javier Barquero and the late Rolando Barquero, Noriana Barquero Sierra, Julio Cesar Barquero, Adolfo Barquero, and Nora Barquero. Grandfather of Andrea Barquero, Aaron Barquero, Andrey Barquero, Gabriella Barquero, Giovanna Oliva and Audrey Ledet D’Amico. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
