Alvin Thomas Laumann Jr.

Alvin Thomas Laumann, born on November 13, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 76. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968 before dedicating himself to a career in law enforcement. Alvin graduated from Delgado Community College and served his community with distinction, first with the New Orleans Harbor Police and later with the Kenner Police Department until his retirement in 1994. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Baptiste Laumann and Delores Traub Laumann. In 1976, Alvin married Delene Liskoff, and together they raised two sons, Chris and Branden. Alvin cherished his role as a devoted husband and father, finding joy in the love and companionship of his family. He is survived by his wife, Delene Laumann, his sons, Chris (Melanie) and Branden, and his grandchildren, Mason, Mallory, and Max Laumann. Alvin also leaves behind his sister, Barbara Pisciotta, his brother, Joseph Pisciotta (Brenda), his nieces, Anne Marie Hand and Taryn Pisciotta, his nephew, Joey Pisciotta, and his cousins, Anthony (Marion) and Joanne Traub. Alvin's commitment to service extended beyond his profession. He found solace and enjoyment in the game of golf, treasuring the moments spent on the green with friends. However, before his passion for golf, Alvin had a deep love for all things gun-related. He not only enjoyed collecting, trading, and selling firearms but also spent time with his close friend, Hyacinth, casting their own ammunition. Additionally, he had a fondness for casinos and slot machines, often seeking entertainment and excitement in their halls. In his final years, if he wasn’t on the golf course or in a casino, he could be found passed out in his precious recliner in front of the TV, a familiar and comforting sight to those who knew him best. Alvin leaves behind memories and a legacy of his unique way of life. He will be remembered, loved and missed by those who knew him."
