Selected Independent Funeral Homes (SIFH), founded in 1917 as National Selected Morticians, is an international association of independently owned and operated funeral homes. Membership is by invitation only and is extended to funeral homes only after a thorough evaluation of their reputation, character, service and facilities. Unlike some funeral homes that are part of large corporate entities, SIFH firms are owned by people who are part of their communities. In fact, most Selected Independent Funeral Homes are owned by families that have been caring for friends and neighbors for generations.
